Not such good news though for landlords who let to those tenants in receipt of housing benefits.
A recent survey by the National Landlords Association (NLA) shows that the proposed reduction to local housing allowance means that up to 90% of private landlords would be less likely to give tenancy to someone receiving benefits.
Apparently there will be an average reduction of around £12 per week, which these landlords are saying they cannot absorb.
The Chair of the NLA has commented that he worries that it will have a significant impact on homelessness figures.
